Databazaar.com was founded in April 1999 by a team of seasoned professionals in the computer supplies and accessories industry. With more than a decade of experience in sales and distribution of computer supplies, the founding team felt that there existed a need in the B2B as well as B2C arena for a site focussed solely on computer supplies & peripherals. The founding team also realized that during these times of transition from the old economy to the new, the most viable business model would be one that was both Clicks and Mortar.
Databazaar's business model has therefore been meticulously designed to leverage the efficiencies of the internet in serving all three customer segments --- the home user, the corporate user and the wholesaler. The size of this market has been estimated by Xerox Corp at $6 billion per year and is projected to grow at 20% per year for the next 5 years.
This fourth-generation website of Databazaar.com launched in July 2002, is designed on the industry-leading Intershop e-commerce platform, and has functionalities and features that has made Databazaar.com the internet's premier site for computer supplies and peripherals.
With a superb supply chain already in place, a strong structural backbone to the business, and a dedicated management team, Databazaar.com has been seeing phenomenal growth since its inception. Current year sales are projected at $53 million plus with a yearly growth rate of more than 25%. Databazaar.com has been profitable from day one and has funded all its growth and expansion through private funding and internally generated revenues.
With group companies and offices in India and Hong Kong, Databazaar is one of the fastest growing distribution companies in the computer supplies industry.
